Our Story

Some things don't fit in a suitcase. But your curls come with you.

At nine, I left the Dominican Republic and moved to Switzerland. I brought my language, my warmth – and my hair. Curls that had always told the story of who I am – long before I knew it myself.

In Switzerland, that suddenly didn't fit anymore.

So I adapted. Chemical straightening made my hair smooth – and my sense of self smaller and smaller. I became a hairstylist to finally understand my hair. But I learned perfection for every other hair type. Just not my own.

So I started on my own. For over ten years. In my kitchen. With Caribbean ingredients, traditional knowledge – and a lot of patience.

Until I saw a defined curl in the mirror again. And smiled at it, instead of wishing it away.

This cannot stay only my story.

When my mentor looked me in the eyes and said: "Pamela, this belongs in the world" – I finally took the step I had been putting off for so long.

I searched for a lab that knows no compromise. One that speaks the same language: natural ingredients, Caribbean roots, uncompromising quality. I found it where my story began – in the Dominican Republic. As if the circle had always been waiting to close.

From that encounter, emiria was born.

Not standing between two worlds. But at home in both.

emiria is not just hair care. It is the ritual of coming home to yourself.
